Another printer recommendation thread

Sorry but I've tried to find the definitive answer and failed.

Currently I have an HP8850 and really don't get on with it. It doesn't produce a lustre to its prints that I like and its really fussy about paper. I've also realised that I don't need A3.

So. I'd like a very, very good A4 printer. I mostly do theatre front of house production picture printing as well as actors headshots. Needs to be able to do fantastic black and white printing then as well as colour.

So up to about £300 what would be the best buy for an A4 printer. Obviously if the ink doesn't cost me a second mortgage that would be even better.

Definately would recommend the Canon iP 45 / 46 / 4700 range - no where near your budget though - less than £100.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'd love to go the Canon route but dammit I want to spend more money! Or should I just trust that I can print professional looking prints from a £100 printer?
