Another question on Tripods...

Hey Guys,

I know I made a post previously about tripods and knowing which one is the best to get, but things have cropped up i and photography has taken a back step for a good 2-3 months! :thumbsdown: But all is sorted, the deal I was looking at has ended with Red Snapper.

I was doing some research and I came across the Giottos MTL9361B Pro Tripod... It looks really really nice and sturdy for wildlife photography it's £94.95 currently in Jessops and just wondering if anyone has any prior experience with this as that's quite a bit of money to spend on a tripod, especially as i'm using my student loan (What more would i want to spend my money!?!) haha.

Another question, are you able to use any heads on tripods? something i've always wanted to know as i've seen a very nice Giottos MH1300-621 which looks awesome, but it's another £75ish.. Manfrotto by the look of it do some great heads, would it be possible to use a Manfrotto head on a Giottos??

As far as I know... yes. I think that the worst that can happen is that you might need an adapter if the threads don't match. I had to buy adapters for my Benbo to enable me to use my Manfrotto and Giottos heads and they cost exactly £1 each and were delivered free.

iv got the Giottos MTL9361B Pro and its great,well worth the money.
it can do everything id ever want a tripod todo.
it strong and quite light.
the legs can be opened out more to make it more stable in wind etc you can take the neck out and have the whole thing just off the floor or even use the camera upside down.
i use the Giottos MH5011 Head that came with mine and it works like a dream with my @550 and 70-300.

its alot of money but it WILL last if you look after it.

Thanks mate! That is really reassuring, sounds like the perfect tripod! And the MH5011 head doesn't look to bad - and the price beats £170 odd!
