another recommendation thread

Hi guys and gals.

Im after a budget dslr up to £150 or so to be paired up with a 50mm 1.8

It will be used for promo shots of clothing whilst being worn by models.

Shots will only be taken outside in natural light with no flash.

What camera gives the best colours straight off..I dont wanna have to edit too much.

I have had experience with nikons..so im thinking. .

D50
D70
Fuji s2 pro
Fuji s3 pro

Any othe alternatives?

Canon
Pentax
Sony

??????

A Sony A200 should do what you want (indeed any Alpha should) & a new 50/1.8 is £90 with s/h or a Minolta 50/1.7 even cheaper.

Are those lenses autofocus?

Yes, they are auto focus.

Another option is a Canon 20D (£100) plus 50 1.8 (£50)

However, they are all slightly different when it comes to colours straight off so down to personal preference although they all work for me as I am not too fussy...

I meant budget for camera only is £150 but cheaper the better.

I can't help thinking any camera body "worth" £150 will be quite a bit aged, and I'd imagine some of the smaller sensor cameras nowadays will be the equal for ISO.
Whilst not on budget, but meeting the minimal post processing requirement, maybe the Fuji X10 would slot right in.
Discreet as well, and the jpegs can handle quite a bit of pushing and pulling without being destroyed.
Should be a fair few coming up for sale pre-owned to make way for the X20 in a few weeks.

You may be right when it comes to higher ISO (1600+) but something like a 20D will produce a better image than an X10 and perform better all around (I have owned both in the last year)
The 20d is faster, more ergonomic controls, much better viewfinder etc, etc,.

If size is not a consideration I would stick with the DSLR approach.
