Got a chance to really see the benefit of 'fast' glass at the weekend, the 17-55 IS f/2.8 from Canon was just brilliant against my 28-135 IS 3.5-5.6. I used to take the 28-135 out on its own for walk-around, but I don't think I am going to be able to leave the 17-55 behind now.
So if I were to look at upgrading my 28-135, what would be the next lens?
I would like it to have IS preferably, I find it very useful.
Relevant lenses I have:
10-22
17-55 IS f/2.8 (50/1.8)
28-135 f/3.5-5.6 (want to upgrade to something faster), I use this as my walkaround
70-300 IS, I only take this out when I have the off-chance of needing a long lens, so I wouldn't want to loose too much length from the 28-135
100-400 IS, I take this out when I know I need a long lens (wildlife)
(unfortunately, the 17-55 looks like it needs to go back to canon for a comms fault)
