Ansmann battery grip

Has anybody had any problems with these battery grips?.

I got mines today only to find it's not working. It is showing it is full charge but i put it onto the camera and it's dead.

What i just noticed when i tryed to give it a charge again is that some sparks come from the charge point when i put the charger in.:'(

Its for a Nikon D90.
 
Some aftermarket batteries do that in the D300 (and the D40) too - a fully charged one will show zero charge in the camera. It's a compatibility issue, go back to the seller and ask for a refund....
 
Ok it seems the Nikon D90 does not run on the Ansmann grip.

I got my Nikon MB-D80 grip today and all is well(thank god)

A lot of these HK sellers and the like will just assume that because it worked with the D80 it will work with the D90, but as the song goes, it ain't necessarily so....
 
Hi all i have just been given one of these for a canon 40d it shows fully charged but once fitted into the camera there no sign of life.??
 
If there are sparks coming from it there is something VERY wrong and you are risking damage or fire. Send it back.

Saying that I am surprised to hear of your problems as Annsman kit is usually pretty good (although I have not met their grips before).
