Hi all

Somehow as I have updated versions of McAfee I have got the supossed Antivirus Pro 2010 Virus which pretends to be a microsoft update but seems to be a scam... although it seems that a lot of the interenet based solutions are a scam as well...

I've never had a virus on a computer before... how am I best to remove this... any ideas from anyone who has had it before as i'm clueless...

It seems a real nasty virus and basically has rendered my desktop unusable without rebooting every 5 mins and error and virus alerts every 5 mins by the virus itself!

Help please!!!

Mark

Yep as admirable said get malwarebytes, you have been infected with a common virus which is a real pain in the neck but should be easily removed with malware, I had a older version of the virus last year and malwarebytes was the only program I could find to remove it.

PS you posted in the wrong section :P

If I remember correctly, you might have to do the scan in safemode? Its that damn blasterworm virus! :bang:

This little nasty is actually a category of infection that people now refer to as "scareware". Some interesting info can be found here

Malwarebytes would be my first port of call on this too.
