Ants with a meal

Here are some shots of the ants I discovered living in my house wall today.

They had found a decent sized meal and were trying to move in to the nest but seemed to have different ideas how that would happen.

Unforunately for them there days are numbered as they moved into my house.

Thanks Icy can you light be that bad it looks fine on most subjects. being quick enough to get them in focus is the hardest bit I find.

The Jaws are closed in the 1st assuming you mean the central ant what you may think are jaws are bits of dinner.

Nice set! What have they got? Some kind of beetle larva?

Hope you manage to get rid of them from the house. I wonder if there is a way to relocate a nest, rather than the usual boiling water trick...

Tim yeah I think its a beetle larvae

I could not pour boiling water in let as it does not go uphill well they are inside the cavity of the wall it will have to be poision i am afraid I would rather not as they would make a nice study subject.
