Any £250 lens (new) worth having for landscapes on 500D??

Looking for a present for amateur getting into landscapes.

A tripod, or some filters maybe? or a pair of hiking boots and waterproof jacket ;-)?

I think some Samyang lens will be around this price but not everybody love to use manual focus. It's good for landscape and architecture but sometime you want to use the lens for other things too...

You can get a very good 2nd hand 10-20mm sigma lens for this price. If you find a pristine one with box it's already a nice present?

The canon 10-18 would be worth considering. Most places retail it at £299 but it can be purchased from HDEW for £215

I can't give a personal recommendation, having never made a purchase from them.
