Got the lovely bunch from the EDL coming to blackburn tomorrow so naturally I want to get there and shoot off some pics.

by no standard will it be what the pro's take but any advice regarding getting good pictures?

i've noticed in some youtube video's certain photographers are outside the barriers taking pictures - will they have official press passes or something?

also from the kit on my signature

what lens would you take? since i'm hoping to get the close action the prime was going to be with me.

18-70, get close, don't forget the basic 'rules' of photography.. eg composition and focus still matters.

Keep your eyes open and don't get into silly situations if things get a bit dodgy.

Think about why you're taking the photos though, and how that influences the way you shoot and what situations you put yourself in.

How about turn up, make it obvious you have a camera, then pointedly turn round and photograph the wall instead...?

Ideal kit to shoot the EDL,
General purpose machine gun, at 1200 rounds a minute you should get a good few

HAHA that one genuinely made me lol!

i didnt go in the end - i went there quite early and then heard from quite a few of the anti-edl people who werent uaf or the peaceful part that trouble was going to be brewing

went off apparently in quite a few places - and even though its "over" the police are still having to mop it all up
