I didn't buy anything there. I wanted too! But my bargain was to be had at Jessops Birmingham. :D

Went there today. Some very interesting seminars and I thought some good bargains. Refurb 5D mk2's with 12 month guarantees for 1200 for example Got a filter wallet, wide angle holder and adapter ring for £19. All in all was a good show with lots of interest. Much better than last year.

I went today too. Didn't really find anything that was a bargain but I picked up two infra-red B&W 35mm films for £6 when they're meant to be £9 each :)
 
The Jacobs stand next to Canon have some decent deals with some new cameras, lenses & kits at a bit lower than the best retail prices according to camerapricebuster and a selection of "B-grade" ex-demo and refurbed stuff.
 
I wasn't that impressed with the 'bargains' to be honest...

The most interesting part of the day was finally getting to have a look at the 5DMKIII. 7D owners will get to grips with that camera very quickly! :)

Bought myself a few bits... Got a spare Black Rapid tripod socket attachment for a tenner which was a bit cheaper than normal and spent £200 on the Samyang 8mm fisheye! ;)

Or perhaps it's just a poorly done refurbishment, someone handed a malfunctioning D3s to a bloke with a hammer and said "have a crack at fixing this" :naughty:

Yes this was it, didn't really see any other bargains. The size of the show was notably smaller with the absence of Pentax, Sony and Panasonic this year.
 
Only got a book, so slightly disappointed. There were one or two 100L IS at 530 ish but they were all well gone before 11. 50/1.4 for 230 wasn't bad, but with one already in the bag it couldn't be justified.

I am sure wedn's evening will see the most discounts, but they are more likely to be 'small' items.

P.s. Don't forget to pay for you parking as the very last thing before leaving, if you go after 6 :lol:

Well that will disappoint my brother, being a sony user!

I am going to be getting a Sigma 50-500 os from camera world, they have the best price in the uk and hoping they might get a little generous on tuesday :D

100L Macros? For £530? New!?

Ouch, missed out on that, would have snapped arms of at that price.

Even for a D3 that's pretty good depending on the shutter count. I think MPB are selling them for around the £2K mark?

B-grade stock (the box was opened once).

Next year you need to be the first one at the door to stand any real chance. As much as I'd want I need to have a good think if I want another crazy 'lottery' journey
