Any Benro Users Here?

Bought a Benro C257 with B2 ball head a few days ago from DcStuffs over at Ebay. Received today and wow what a tripod. Tall and so light. So light I am scared of banging it. This weight difference of CF will be welcomed on hiked compared to my Redsnapper that has done well, but just too heavy.

Anyway, the B2 ballhead is interesting. I can't seem to detach the QR plate. I know it has to be released angular, but I screw the knob as much as possible but it seems to be totally lodged in.

Am I missing a trick here?
 
I have a Benro C-257 with J-2 head. Superb, and great value from DC Stuffs. Did you pay duty/VAT? Nobody seems to... ;)

Undo the clamp fully - it's stop-locked and won't come out - and the plate lifts straight out. Maybe it's just stiff/new?

Nope zero taxes. Was brilliant and full tracking with DHL.

I've turned the clamp/knob fully, but just wont come out. Maybe just need to give it a few days :/

Unless you're just being a pussy, there's no secret to it. Unscrew, and there's about 1mm clearance to lift the plate straight up. I've got a few of these clamps, all the same.

If you think there's a problem, email DC - he's very quick and helpful.
 
Fixed sort of. Had to use plaiars to turn the clamp a bit more. I could only turn it a bit before now theres an extra few MM. Whether I was meant to do that or not I don't know, but it seems to be working, lol.

Least the legs are great. Can't get over how light CF is. WOW.
 
Well, if you're happy. But it should be 100% smooth and light. Maybe you've just got a bit of swarf in the thread or something and it'll loosen up, but the knob is sealed so you can't take it apart. Send it back if it doesn't, I know it's a pain but it's quality gear and should work perfectly.
