Any bright ideas to solve this camera strap issue?

Hi all

I like the Rapid-Strap style shoulder straps and use a Sunbounce Sniper one at the moment.

So I can quickly move it between bodies and so I can also easily use those bodies on tripods I have the strap attached to a QR adapter.

I worried that one day I'll accidentally disconnect the QR and drop camera etc.

What I thought is I could make a little fail-safe strap that could attach to the strap on one end and clip to the neckstrap fittings on camera.

Anyone got any idea what I could use for this strap?

Thanks

Phil

I'm actually in the process of making one for myself. Ordered some 15mm nylon webbing, some strong-looking locking ladder buckles and some (hopefully small enough) carabiners from eBay for the grand total of £7. My plan is to do exactly as you suggest - run a short safety strap from the BlackRapid buckle to the original strap mount on the left side of the camera.

Should all be delivered in the next few days. If I can successfully fashion something that I think is worthwhile, I'll post back with the results. I've ordered enough that I can test a few to destruction to see what kind of impact they'll bear.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll look forward to your results, Steve.
