Yes
IM thinking of getting this lens for motorsport because
a-cant afford the 2.8 is version
b-my 100-400l is most of the time just a tad too much

I find even on a cloudy day with an iso of 400 I can get speeds in access of 1/800 easy enough so i dont think the non IS or even the f4 should be a problem.
can anyone give me there input on this lens for motorsports.

many thanks

I've got one, used it for several years for sport because it's light and brilliantly sharp. Results v price it's one of the best.

But for football/rugby I've bought the 2.8 IS which is superb at isolating subjects.

Can't give any info on motors, but I use it (the 70-200f4 L) at Manchester Airport for the planes and it does a fine job!!
Just love this lens, it's on my camera most of the time!

I use this lens for a mix of things and I love it to bits. It gives me excellent results for portraits, random family snaps, candids and have used it to take pictures at a few local grass root footy matches. F4 does me well and it is crisp sharp lens with good colour reproduction.

Of course I want the F2.8 IS but basically I'm in the same boat as you with money but this lens does me well and don't feel that I'm slumming it all.

great feedback, just what i was wanting to hear, looks like kerso will be getting some of may wages next month.

thanks
