I did have both for a while and found that I used the 135 much more than the 85. I do like to shoot at longer lengths and often use a 300 for outside portraits, so it might well just be the greater working distance of the 135 that appeals to me. That said the images out of the 85 were stunning but I didn't use it enough to justify the money that was tied up in it. So I replaced it with the Sigma f1.4 which is also very good (not quite the wow factor though) and have not regretted it. I tend to use both the 85 and the 135 for portraits and the 135 is my favourite lens when second shooting a wedding. I would say that when second shooting I will take over 75% of the shots with the 135.
