Any experience with the 200mm f2.8L prime and TC's?

I'm interested in seeing if anyone has any experience with the 200mm f2.8L, and with TC's, both 1.4 and 2x attatched?

I'm correct in thinking it will autofocus on a 7D with both of these yes? Any experiences to tell regarding this lens? Thank you.

Yes it will retain AF with the 1.4 & 2x, I have seen very good results using both.

FWIW, my experience is that the mk II version of this lens is very picky about which TC it AFs with. The Canon TCs worked fine whilst some of the cheaper (reporting and non-reporting) Kenkos did not work well at all with my copy.

Yep it's the 200 f2.8 II, 2007.

The Canon ones are the ones I've been looking at primarily anyway, thank you for the tip and link

FWIW, I tested the 200f2.8L alongside the 70-200f2.8ISL and the prime was MUCH sharper, lighter etc.. It is THAT good a lens.

I used it bare (the lens not me) for shooting a couple of outdoor gigs and it did a marvelous job. Doubt you will be disapointed with the IQ etc...

I got rid of mine in the end because I NEEDED IS for indoor events otherwise would never have parted with it.
