You have to be careful about anything ramped as an investment opportunity. The bigger the bubble gets, the harder it can be (psychologically) to sell before the crash and during and after the crash your investment may be worth 10% or less of what was paid.

not to me.

I would say buy any art on its merits and on how much you like it. Dont buy with an assumption that the value will increase.

Especially not with prints - even limited edn ones.

I'll be a heretic here and say that I would pay more for 'art' by which I mean painting/lithographs/woodcuts etc than I would for a photographic print.

If looking for an investment, I would ask myself why this item might increase in value? What is special about it, what makes it difficult to recreate (other than the photographer having died)? why would someone buy this in the future for a higher price?

So in summary - buy it if you like it, but dont buy it as an investment.

It does say edn of 200 on the page for that image which made me wonder if that was per size or in total - but the text on the page photon links to implies that they just print on demand. Also they digitally apply the guys signature!?

Nice print but£600!!!, I wouldn't,

Things like that should never be bought purely as an investment, buy it because you like love it and want to own it, otherwise you could end up bitterly disappointed, especially if it ends up, as photon says, only worth 10% of what you paid...

Wouldn't pay anything like that much for that shot, i'm sure it would be pretty easy to recreate and honestly how many jetty pointing into a lake with sunshot images do we see on here? I'm sure you could get someone to sell you one for alot less than that!

Never buy art because you may think it's worth so much –*buy it because you like it. If you feel fine paying £600 for it because you think it's beautiful then go for it. :)

200 is a pretty big edition- I'm used to seeing editions of 15/20/25 going for that money.

Anyway, he seems fairly highly regarded, and has won a lot of awards.

This made me laugh though:

Wouldn't pay anything like that much for that shot, i'm sure it would be pretty easy to recreate and honestly how many jetty pointing into a lake with sunshot images do we see on here? I'm sure you could get someone to sell you one for alot less than that!

ive seen that type of photo a thousand times. For £600 you could get a flight somewhere and take the damn photo yourself!!

Thanks guys.
I think she is trying to be savvy.
I just told her to buy for her pleasure and not for investment.
Thanks for all your advice xx
