Any Lowepro Classified owners?

Yes
I know I asked this question yesterday, but with no joy, so I thought I would change the title and try again in the hope of finding a owner of such a bag.

I have got my eye on a Lowepro Classified 140 aw bag intending to carry my Nikon D300 + 18-200 attached, also a Sigma 10-20 or Sigma 105 and the usual memory, remote wire etc. I called into Jessops who kindly placed a similar set up to mine in the bag which was a bit of a squeeze…….so I came away without purchasing, but I do like it though!
But I don’t want to waste my money again as this item is not cheap, as was a Crumpler Messenger 5500 I bought and do not use (I find I have to fumble a fair bit to get in through the big ‘lid’)

Anybody use this bag with a similar outfit?...if so, your opinion would be gratefully received. Its bigger brother the Classified 160 is too big for my liking so is not a option, which is a shame because it’s cheaper!

Thanks

If you tried it and it's too small then surely giving up and trying a different bag is a better option? Others peoples opinions won't help your equipment fit into a bag that's too small.

I've not tried the Classified AW 140, but I have the Classified Sling 180 AW. It's a Classified but in the form of a Sling backpack. I really like it, and there is actually quite a lot of space inside for the small size. I fit the following into it:

Canon 40D
Panasonic GF1 + 20mm pancake lens
70-200 f4 L IS
17-55 f/2.8 IS
Sigma 10-20mm
Nifty Fifty
Smallish External Flash
Filter wallet + holders/rings etc
Tripod Ballhead (in top pocket)

I also attach a tripod onto the side of the bag with the tripod holder and I can just about squeeze my 13" Macbook Pro into the front laptop pocket. It's a pretty tight squeeze with all of this in, but it's just right if you want to carry a fair bit of kit but don't want an overly massive bag, the section dividers inside make it quite customisable. I also own the much larger Classified Sling 220 AW (which I bought first) and that is absolutely massive inside..........can easily fit 2 bodies + lenses and room for much more, it does however feel like a big suitcase on your back and with a tripod attached too, gets real heavy and uncomfortable.

Sorry if you aren't considering the "Sling" type classifieds, but thought I'd give my thoughts on this bag.

Moor.......I didn't say it was too small, I said it "was a bit of a squeeze". Plus trying it out in a busy shop with the assistant hovering over you doesn't give you a realistic time to assess whether it would be suitable or not, hence why I'm asking for an opinion or experience from anybody who has this bag with a similar kit to mine.

But thanks for your input.

lauy....thanks for the recommendation of the Classified Sling 180 AW. A bit too big for my liking. The reason I like the look of the '140' is it does not look like a camera bag, not too big to lug around and I could carry a rucksack with it occasionally.

thanks

I have recently got the 160AW which I am very pleased with. Can hold the 5D with 24-105 attached and lens hood reversed then to the side can fit either the 70-200 or 100-400, at a push you can get both zooms in one either side but it makes it a little tight.

What I really like is that you can put the camera back in the bag with any of the lenses attached.
