Yes
Having just gold hold of my new IMac, I have been looking to get a couple of games to play on it as its the most powerful computer I've ever owned. The trouble is, there are not many mac games about.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I used to enjoy Myst back in the day, along with Command and Conquer, Quake etc.
Would love to be able to play Battlefield 3 or Skyrim, but it doesn't look like they are available on the mac platform.

It's going to be very spec dependant, a lot of new games require juicy graphics cards

I know, that's always the problem with PC gaming - the graphics cards. :(

My new mac has an AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics cards with 1GB so isn't too shabby.

I've also been told you can dual boot a mac. Not sure if this means I can opt to either boot in full Windows 7 or Mac OS Lion though?

You have 2 options, bootcamp which is Apples own emulator for running Windows, you can only boot in either OSX or windows, nice thing is it's free from Apple.
Paid for options are Parallels or VMware, which mean you you run both at the same time and drag and drop between the 2 if needed.
I use Parallels but haven't tried running any games.

I have VMware installed already with Windows 7 which runs alongside the mac OS. I think this must run much slower than a proper dual boot, as it runs both OS at the same time I think.

Need to set the machine as dual boot I think.

I've now installed Boot Camp and Windows 7 and it works really well. Pretty simple to set up if you follow Apples instructions. I've tried Half Life 2 which runs smooth with all the setting maxed out so now for a purchase of Battlefield 3!

I really like portal 2 and real racing.
