Yes
Hi. Just bought a Manfrotto 128RC from a charity shop and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this model.
Looks old and is beat up, it's in British army green, two way head with a quick release plate and rubber grips at the top of each leg. Triple extension on legs with fold over catches. Legs can be splayed extra wide by overriding a catch.
Although has had much use it's still in perfect working order.
This is a sturdy bit of kit to say the least. I wonder about the only two way head.
I have searched the net but cant find anything.:bang:
Thanks.

I also reckon its a 055 NAT model with 128RC NAT head

NAT standing for nature presumably, Gitzo also do a similar thing in Green

Yes it's a 128 " I grow old".
Now I have my brain into gear I have found it. Mines just a very old one.

I have been asked to put up the photos of the tripod so here they are...

Definitely a NAT kit with a 128 head (a real classic) not sure on the legs but you could work out which legs by seeing how high it is when the legs are extended.

Thanks for the photos.
Total height is around five feet.
You think I got a reasonable deal at £5 then?

I reckon it's a set of 055 legs then as the 190 standard at about 120cm without the central column being extended (excluding the head) while the 055 come up to ~140cm. £5 is a bargain for this tripod even in it's tired condition, I would have snapped it up at that price. Watch out for those leg clips though as they snap closed and can pinch a bit...

Thanks for the comments. Tired cosmetically yes, but mechanically seems just as good as new.
Yes I learned, those clips can be a bit unforgiving.

It's not an 055, they look like this:

Whatever it is, it's a bargain at a Fiver!
