If so... what's it like to live with? Easy and fast to use? Fast to start? Manual focusing intuitive and fast? Can't get my hands on one for a play, but am seriously considering one.

Any feedback welcome.

I'll take that as a no then....

b****r. Don't trust reviews when it comes to handling and stuff... far to subjective. Shall have to travel further afield and try and get my hands on one.

London Camera Exchange have a used one in Manchester and Tobers has an RX1 can't be much difference to them. You're better off on the big American forums for questions about niche cameras like these.

manual focus should be good with the focus peaking and magnification, its the same across nearly all sony cameras, can't remmber what it has for physical focus feel. you could check video reviews of newer nex cameras and the slt, see which menue system it has then go try a nex a7 or slt in a shop and see how you get on

Yeah.. was gonna head over to Manchester this weekend and have a play. Written reviews for something as tactile as feel is always subjective. They just may like it... I may not. I'll just go use one. I just thought if users on here commented, I could see a pattern forming... that's usually far more accurate than a review by one person.

I really like this camera, only issue I have with it is theres no built in viewfinder, once added it becomes very bulky so not much point if wanting a compact FF.

You not going to the Photography show this year Dave? I dare say there will be some there to play with.

I wasn't going to... but a colleague has just arranged a first year trip there, so looks like I will be going after all. I'll probably head over to the Sony stand to look at the RX1R. Not sure what day I'll be going though.
