Howdy folks, I've decided to buy a used lens for taking shots of my grandson at judo competitions. My existing Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-4.5 is at the 4.5 end for most of the focal lengths I tend to use and that makes for slow shutter speeds and camera shake. The camera is a Nikon D80, btw.
I'm considering a Tokina 28-70mm f/2.8 AT-X 287 AF Pro SV ~ does anyone have any first hand experience/comments to make on this lens? Having reviewed the pictures I've taken at judo competitions this year about 96% fall within the lenses focal length so I'm happy with that bit and f/2.8 would give me a significant improvement in shutter speed.
The reviews I've read on t'Internet have been a bit mixed so I'd appreciate your comments.
