Just putting out some feelers for my Bro in law. He has been doing web design for a number of years now. He is more into graphic design and use`s HTML for his clients sites at the moment. He realises he needs to catch up a bit :lol: but admits that he might well struggle at his age to get to grips with and keep up with CSS coding. He has mentioned that wordpress would suit his needs fine and whilst he had a dabble a while ago, he feels that some private one to one tuition would be better for him. In a nutshell he learns quicdker from seeing something done as opposed to reading too much about it. So the question is if there is anybody in the area or near area that would be able to give some tuition then he is more than happy to pay a going rate. If there any interest from anybody then I will pass his details on.

Cheers for the quick reply Dave. We were discussing this earlier about CSS, and the thing is whilst he is far from stupid with what he does, he does reckon that he would struggle learning CSS. He explained that he has enough on his plate doing the art design side of things, whilst he thinks he can cope with learning wordpress, he does not feel confident in learning how to visualise what things will look like on the site, just by the line of code and will prove too much. I will send him the link though so thanks for that. Sorry for a bad explanation of the scenario, but I hope I have put across what his situation is. I obviously did not want it turned into a CSS v Wordpress ;) But I think Wordpress is what he needs to get his head around, and from what he was saying Wordpress is basicaly CSS but without the agro for him to learn so to speak. What do I know? :lol: I am but the messenger boy :D
 
I've built a lot of custom Wordpress sites but I'm too far away to give tuition. To create good wordpress themes he's going to need to know php, html and css to begin with. He could also try following some of the guides on the wordpress site and also hack some free themes to get an idea of how things work. You can create minimal themes pretty easily, but if you want your site to not look like a Wordpress site then he's going to have to dig a bit deeper and the learning curve rises significantly.
