Just found it on my desk at home.

It's only a plastic head but clearly clips into something.

I've no idea.

I don't recognise it and nobody else seems to know where it came from lol
 
It's from an in-car DVD player.
You have a plastic bracket which goes around the metal car headrest supports, this bit clips into that (the clip section is at the bottom of the photo).
The DVD player has a threaded hole in the back which the screw in the upper section screws into.
The angle between the two sections can be adjusted if you loosen off the wheel on the right, to set the angle of the DVD player according to the height of the rear seat passenger.

Far superior to the velcro loop system that other DVD players / holders have - it's made long journeys with the kids so much easier :D

With 4 kids we've had a variety of portable DVD players over the years.

Could be that one of the little ones unearthed something I didn't know we had.
