Anybody use a Nikon 24-85 ƒ2.8-4?

I've been looking for a Tamron 17-50 ƒ2.8 to use on my D200 but I notice MPB has a few Nikon 24-85 ƒ2.8-4 lenses and they seem to get a good write up.
Does anybody use one?

get the older 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 much better lens

Overall, the 24-85mm AF-S is an optical bargain from Nikon:

Thanks, I never considered the ƒ3.5-4, I quite fancied the larger aperture.
I'll have a read of Thoms review.
I'll still get a Tamron, but this might be usefull at the longer end, I did have a Tamron 28-75 that I used a lot, but it seemed very soft at 75mm.

Allan for around £100 - £150 you should find the 28-105 f3.5 / f4.5, which is a little gem of a lens.
