Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has bought the iphone on Tesco? If so how is the quality of 3g and do you get good coverage?

Thanks

Mark

seriously be careful as 02 are having 3g problems at the moment
there network is on overload
have a look here http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=12028
i have changed four of our phones from 02 to orange and it just leaves my iphone on 02
as soon as this contract is up i will go to orange

at least you can use it on orange
750mb is a fair bit of phone surfing though
i downloaded a 1.2gb film the other day but anything like that is done via wi-fi

Fair do's. I'm on o2 with an iphone and have had zero problems. I was on orange for a year and it was hell on earth. I used to be with T Mobile, for about 10 years and generally it was fine. If it went wrong they'd resolve it well.

Orange are responsible for my least positive consumer experience ever. I guess we all have different experiences. Google orange iphone issues, maybe not those words.. but I'm sure it's well documented that the grass isn't always greener.

the vodafone iphone looks better..getting the best coverage and apparently fastest network.

i know what you mean my iphone is on 02 and i have just recently changed 4 other mobiles to orange as i have had various problems with o2
i have been with o2 for years even when they were cellnet and spent 1200-00 a year with them
my iphone seems to be ok at the moment with a new sim in it
there are thousands of people having problems with the 3g networks at the moment maybe it is worst in the london and south east areas

I've not got an iPhone but when in reception Vodafone's 3G coverage is quick and reliable from my experience. :)

From what I've read, this is a problem that has been limited to London and the surrounding areas, anyone confirm? I'd hate to be the one sticking up for O2 here

Love the phone, hate the provider...

I've had crappy O2 reception in Coventry a few times too, when O2 have said they are having data problems in London, it's been the same up here.

Effectively these fair usage policies are capped internet are they not?

They were, but they sort of removed it and sort of denied it was ever there

They retracted their controversial fair usage policy on that one.

I was going to say...My O/H just got an iPhone on Orrange with unlimited data.

I'm not sure how the Vodafone 3G network compares on an iPhone to a Dongle but it is appalling with my supposed 3G dongle - never managed to get any coverage, normally GPRS, if any at all. I travel a lot from Birmingham up to Carlisle and down to London and everywhere in between.

The issue was that Orange were advertising it as unlimited data, then in the small print it was actually restricted ;)

Ive got an iphone and i wish Id bought a proper phone instead. The bluetooth is horrendous, the camera is horrendous, theyre supposed to be scratch resistant and theyre not and the battery is awful.

To be fair you don't buy an iPhone for the camera, that's what you've got a 50d for surely. Also, the screens are scratch resistant, not scratch proof. Also, if you turn off 3g, dot use push emails and have screen brightness down you can happily get 2 days battery out of it - no different to many other smart phones.

don't want to take it too far off topic but as a work tool nothing can match my iPhone for functionality and sometimes we have to make small sacrifices such as the battery.

the girlfriend has hers on orange, its a fair usage policy so not had any problems yet.

She has just finished the 12 days of christmas free downloads.
