Yes
I just tried to sign in to my online banking to the halifax & after signing in with user name & password it goes to the 3 drop down menu questions - as usual .. After inputting those it then has a pop up asking some serious questions like mothers name, fathers name, place of birth, phone number, then about my card details & the CCV number... Mmmmmmmmmm weird...

Now this has only started asking me today the first part I filled out then the next page about card details etc made me think - so I logged on with my partners laptop & low & behold it had none of the extra details just the usual username & password then the next page of the 3 box drop down menu then straight into my account...

Obviously I haven't continued & will be contacting them by phone to ask about this biy am wondering if anyone else has had the same pop up questions...

Just done mine and it's fine.

Time to run Malawarebytes on your machine and let the Halifax know ASAP.

No, I signed in this morning and just had the normal security process. It sounds very dodgy to me. Definitely phone Halifax and check it out.

Just tried mine, apart from the new security question nothing has changed.
Sounds very iffy to me,malware or something on your machine?

Sounds fishy. They have changed all the site around once you get in, but Ive never had a pop up asking stuff like that, and I'd refuse to answer even if it did.
If I recall, they never ask you for card details. Why would they, they already know it!

Get onto them asap, hopefully you have the link saved in history to send to them too.

Yes theyve just updated their website.

However, this 'website' you went to was asking for the CVV number and bank card details. The halifax already hold this information, why are they asking you to provide it?

I'm 100% sure it's dodgy.

Certainly sounds dodgy, but having read that "Millions of Halifax customers have been locked out of their internet savings, investments and credit card accounts for up to 18 months" nothing would surprise me!

Locked out of your internet accounts for up to 18 months while they update the website??? :bang:

I can get into all my accounts including credit cards and do everything I did a few days ago.

So in my view, your link is total nonsense:razz:

Wont go into a rant about how ***** the halifax has become (both online and in branch) but I can't remember ever being asked for the extra info you mention in the first post. Does sound a bit odd.

I dunno, I did read on a Daily Mail website I s'pose

It is supposed to affect ONLY 3.5 million of their customers so if you are still able to do all of the following, perhaps you are not one of them

They will no longer be able to request a PIN reminder, change a credit limit, amend or cancel a direct debit payment or use a debit card to pay off a credit card bill online.

Those using the bank's online investment service will not be able to top up their Isa or view and manage their investments.

Meanwhile, savers cannot make online payments or transfers to other Halifax or Bank of Scotland customers. These services will all be blocked for 12 to 18 months while the website is revamped.

You should cancel your card immediately, it's most likely a phishing attack. They would never ask for that.

The site did change recently, but it's just a new layout for your accounts. Ring them immediately and tell them what's happened.

I will be contacting them in a wee while....

The other thing is that I inputted a load of 0's for number's & AAA's for any name etc & its cleared the "pop up" - BUT what's got me was that the site still had the "padlock" symbol in the top corner of the link/address box...

I dont give any details to any site that doesn't have this "padlock" symbol at the top - I've run MSE & it found some type of password hacker an has deleted it...

Now I was under the impression that this "padlock" symbol was a form of security stating that the site was safe... It now makes me wonder if thats true or not....

No that just means that youre connecting through https
