Anyone else going to get one of these?

I was watching a tutorial / demo re the Nikon version. When the SB's were attached to the 622 they had to be put in ITTL mode to allow the TX and receivers to control them. is that the same for canon? Do the actual strobe have to be in TTL and then they re controlable from the TX?

Yes, but it's not what it seems.
In order for the camera to 'talk' to the flash, the flashgun needs to be in ETTL mode. Because once the flash is in manual mode, the only command it understands is 'fire' on the centre pin. Whereas the triggers / camera can tell the flashgun to switch to 'manual' to alter the power and zoom, all of which are complicated instructions delivered on the other pins on the hotshoe.

ah...thats what i thought. Flash in ETTL allows the rest of the instrucitons to communicate...

looking forward to having a play. I expect tits much the same as the Nikon ones which already have a number of reviews.

The only small bugbear is it doesnt have a hot shoe. (not sure how / where they would put it.)

Would be good to be able to have a flash gun mounted on camera as well....

im thinking of when lighting the first dance having 2 strobes either side of the floor set manually then an on camera flash with a little fill in ettl.

I suppose rather than having it on camera just have a 622c connected and hold it lol...

My thoughts too. Frankly I still pinch myself at how inexpensive these things are. It's ridiculous in comparison to the PW Flex's I had previously.

customs got hold of mine, want £16 (£6 VAT and a £10 customs handling fee...)...told them to check as all duties should have been paid by the seller. But then read their website and was wrong lol. so need to phone back and cough up the £16.

Cant complain though as all my yongnuo gear so far has slipped through....

Would have been here for the weekend too..:(

I believe a few have been stopped . I presume that they all came on the same shipment so triggered alarm bells .

£10 fee will be with the courier and not to HMRC. Pay on credit card and claim it back saying you paid under duress. You had no contract with the shipping agent and therefore these fees are largely unenforceable.

(If you can be bothered).
