I've just been perusing the lens section at WEX. They are inviting pre orders for the MkII version of the EF24-70L F2.8 ....................................................................at a price of £2299!!!:gag:


I'm not singling out WEX as I rate them greatly and if that's the price the new lens is going for, well fine. But I think the MkI version is just hunky dory.:lol:

Thats abit too much isn;t it? I personally think the mkI is already a cracking lens.
 
I suppose like everything else, the price will come down eventually, but many lenses have to be sold before that happens. The question is, is whether the new lens is £1200 better IQ than the Mk I. Would you be keen to spend that sort of cash to find out?
 
best to find out is to take your camera to the shop and try it. I don't really know whether the £1200 more will give you better IQ/optic .......
 
wait a couple of months and prices will fall, but its still a lot of money for a 24-70mm f2.8 lens Rather by a sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS and I would still have change $$$$
