Not Bose

Currently looking at JBL On Stage 200ID or IIIP, but haven't a clue if they're any good, or the advantages/disadvantages of either.

MUST MUST MUST be capable of charging the iPhone 3G.

I've got an old JBL on-stage, about 2-3 years old, and sound comes out quite good( but i'm no expert ) and it charges aswell.

If you want the latest big sound beastie then have a look at the Zeplin. Very nice very expensive but sounds great and looks the part.

The B&W Zeppelin is about as good as it gets (for a stand alone dock) musically anyway before you start moving on to use a dock connected to your hi fi / AV Amp. Zeppelin LINK

I use the Onkyo DS A2X ONKYO LINKY which runs through my main hi fi system, does the on screen graphic to the TV too if needed.

Also note that on later iPod's which have the video function (I have the 160gb Classic) if you don't use an original 'Apple' dock then the video out option is disabled (For if you wanted to stream your video content to a display??).

Just depends how serious you want to get with it :D

I've got a B&W Zeppelin and I'm VERY happy with it. It's very heavy, which is always a good sign, and it gives superb sound (very load if you want it to be at parties). Not sure it will charge an iPhone though.... you will need to check that for sure.

I've got my iPod plugged in to (using a iPod dock) my usual sound system. It's a Cambridge Audio amp and it sounds fantastic.

However....

I have seen a really sexy looking valve amp in the Apple shop that I quite fancy checking out. I think its about £300 excluding speakers. Looks like it could be very good.
