anyone got Tamron 17-50mm (non-VC) chipped to work with new Nikon bodies?

Looking to get the above works done on my lens.

I have read that it is possible although the thread was found on DP review. So want to see if anyone in this country got it done and how much it was.

Edit: I meant the lens works in all normal operation but doesn't AF in Liveview. In case anyone is thinking what I meant by the thread title

I enquired about this a few years ago and the cost was £45 if I remember correctly.

I dont use live view - so i nether bothered with it.
