Anyone have a Sigma ringflash AND sigma or tamron macro lens?

Tried a Sigma 105mm with Sigma ringflash and on a canon 450d the inbuilt lens motor was not enough to allow autofocus with the flash attached. It had to be manually focussed. Can people confirm if this is the case with them?

However with the same ringflash and a tamron lens (body driven) on a nikon D200, the lens could autofocus.

Does anyone know if a tamron lens (canon mount) would be able to autofocus with the flash?

Canon 100mm will (the thread doesn't move). You can make a choice between L and non-L versions.

Got the Nikon version and it works,but for macro I usually manual focus anyway.

Any ideas of the canon versions of either the tamron or sigma? The nikon versions will work as they are body driven so I suspect they are more powerful..
