what do you think of it?
I'm after a Zoom lens with Image stabilisation and this one could well fit the bill

Hi

I've only got that lens in that focal range so can't compare against anything else.

I think its a cracker for the money (the nifty 250), team it with the kit lens 18-55mm IS and a 50mm f1.8 (the nifty fifty) and you'll have an excellent setup.

Don't just take my word of course, wait for some more reviews and/or if you have a large budget, look at the 70-200L lenses.

I can get it locally brand new for £208, I thought I'd have to pay a LOT more for something like it with Image Stabilisation, especially as it is a CANON brand lens....it could well be BARGAIN of the year
 
I had one of these for years, great lens, especially for the money!
 
I have this lens...from ebay back in December. Paid £127 I think. It seems good so far and comes with a guarantee and original box
 
Its a brilliant lens, extremely sharp and has given me some great photo's on a 450D. Just sold it recently with the 450 but would have kept it if it was compatible with a 1 series camera.

I paid £140 brand new for mine off an Ebay trader (UK not import)
 
Buy it. It's a fantastic lens for the money, I bought mine for ~£130ish off eBay and haven't been disappointed with it.
 
Is there anyone who doesn't love this lens? I've taken thousands of wildlife photos with it over the the last two and a half years. You can buy better lenses but not for anything like the price.
 
Bought mine cheap from a friend as a stop gap, admittedly not a focal range I use that much, but still got it.

Nothing to touch it without paying a lot more money, might be plastic and look a bit cheap, but its great for the price and surprisingly fast AF too for a non usm lens
