Anyone recommend a camera bag?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a camera bag to hold a body, 3-4 lens, flashgun and all the other bit and bobs memory cards etc.
I am currently looking at a Lowepro runner 300 aw. I want a backpack style and the facility to strap a tripod to it would be good.

I have just got the Lowepro Slingshot and I really like it, with it's ability to swivel round to the front of your body for safe easy lens changes etc. It has a waterproof cover and a tripod holder as well as many pockets and compartments . As my kit is minimal the 102w is sufficient for me, but with your kit you need to be looking at the 302.
There are many hands on bag reviews on YouTube which could help you in your search .
 
Another vote for the Flipside 400AW, took me a while to find a suitable bag, but this one does all I want or need
 
I would also recommend the flipside. I have the 200 and can fit my canon 500d, three lenses and a flashgun. I'm running out of room now though so the 400 is your best bet.

Best things about the bag are the security and ease of getting to your kit
 
The lowepro range is good, but you will be better off going to a shop and looking at the bags to see what you like.

I have purchased a fastpack 100 and am very happy with it. I only use this bag when I am out and about as I have a cheap bag that holds all the other gear when not in use.
 
I too started with the flipside 200, and found that I was running out of room very quickly after buying more gear!! The flipside 400 fits the bill perfectly. I keep the 200 for journeys I make on the motorcycle, and the 400 for everything else.

The only 'issue' I have with the flipside relates to their tripod/monopod carrying ability. I wouldn't trust the single locking point that they provide, and would always secure it elsewhere for added stability. HTH.

I don't either, but what I do is I lengthen the straps that don't seem to do anything at the top (each side of the bag). I then connect them so the tripod is held at the top.

Hopefully you'll be able to see in my quick snap shot. Works quite well for me, the only problem now is getting the bag to hold a tripod with the AW cover in use!

Agreed, quite the design flaw by Lowepro!! :lol: But good tip regarding the straps (works nicely for the 400, on the 200 I tie an extra strap around the carrying handle on the top of the bag).

Edit; Snap on the tripod. Is it an Asda £11.97 jobby?! Mine performs a treat!

i have the lowepro 300 flipside it holds my 40d and 3 lenses with room for a couple more and other odds and sods, it also holds my tripod, i just make sure that the tripod legs are in the pocket and think it holds fine, in terms of raincover i went to go outdoors and spent a fiver on a seperate one, big enough to cover the pack with the tripod on.
 
i use a lowepro 202aw slingshot but the 302 would be big enough for you. it is a cross the shoulder bag which i was reticent about but it is really comfortable and slides round so you can take all your kit out without taking it off and slide it back. there is a strap that pins it like a rucksack. i skied with mine this year and it stuck like glue to my back.
