Anyone shot the Pikes Peak Hill Climb before?

I've wanted to go to see the Pikes Peak hill climb ever since discovering it through driving the Suzuki Pikes Peak Escudo in Gran Turismo as a young'un, and whilst I'm out here living in the US I figured I should have a stab at it. Flights have just gone on sale for next year's event and I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

Has anyone ever shot the event before? Any tips or experiences about the event itself but in particular how photographer-friendly it is would be really appreciated.

I certaily havent but would love to go and watch. Its just a shame its now tarmac. Sure the loose surface would have made for far better shots.
