Yes
I'm looking for a new shoulder bag, that doesn't look like a camera bag, so am thinking about a crumpler. But there seem to be 20 billion different variants...

I need something that will take a DSLR, 24-105L, 70-200 f4 L, wide angle and a compact, with a few pockets for bits and pieces. If anyone can suggest which one of the range is most suitable then please let me know - don't carry a laptop.

other thing I saw other than a crumpler is the lowepro nova, anyone know if these are any good ?

I think most people use the Crumpler Muffin Top. I did ask a question about if the Crumplers give enough protection as the lowepro which is what most people seem to use

The size guides on their site regarding what will fit are not accurate but the measurements they give are. But that is difficult to say what will fit and what ways you can configure the storeage in the bag. Im heading to the crumpler shop in london this weekend to find out which bag to buy next.

Just be careful when reading reviews of Crumpler bags. They have different ranges in Europe and North America but confusingly they are called the same. So if you read a review of the "Pretty Boy XXXXXXL" on a US website it may not be the same bag that you would buy over here.

Crumpler's website doesn't help much either.

They did a shoulder bag review in the Dec issue of Digital Photo magazine and the Kata DC-445 came out on top... hang on, let me get the magazine...

Right, it says "capacity wise... accomodating all our test gear in the main compartment with space to spare - you could sqeeze a large 70-200mm pro zoom in there if you wished". Test gear was D-SLR with large, standard zoom lens, a telephoto zoom, standard prime, flashgun, and other accessories - charger / filters / cards etc. Apparently it's got two big pockets and 3 smaller ones on the inside.

They also reviewed the muffin top 7500 and didn't rate it particularly highly - not enough pockets (one), bit of a squeeze to get all the kit in. The only Lowepro they reviewed was the Reporter D200 AW and that came in second place so could be worth a look.

Hope that helped

I have a Crumpler Muffin top 3000 and find it ok it only has 2 main pockets and a small 1 on the front for filters or such things. It is some times a pain due to the fact that I have to always put my 18-55mm lens back on to put the camera in it as it wont fit with my 70-300mm lens on.

Both those bags look boring Black the Crumplers are more unique looking there are others in the range Gigolo is one with more capacity i think only downside is not fast access. But Dslr Photograhy rated it highly apart from the drawback i mentioned.

Horses for courses, But a Crumpler is on my list

thanks to all, will have a look at those suggested, and good to hear that it's not only me that find their range confusing !

I have the Daily XL(600) which is now known as the New Delhi 620.
It's a great bag but as with all Crumplers not quite as big as you think.
I can comfortably fit in a gripped 450D with Tamron 17-50 attached, 430EXII in pouch, 50mm 1.8, a 70-200 f4L IS, spare battery chasis for the grip, charger & cables and still have room for another mid sized lens (say a 70-200 F4 or 200mm f2.8). You then have numerous pockets and pouches as well as panels to attach additional lens cases too on the outside :)
The 3rd leg system is great too.

I got the Messenger boy Half photo Crumpler - use it daily so can carry my usual bits that i need out and about and also have my camera with me "just in case" a shot appears :)

Not as big as I thought in the bottom section for the camera but certainly extremely well cushioned and as said above tough to even crush the bag when empty. Like the styling of the crumpler range as well, doesn't even look like i'm carrying my kit around with me

Wel I spent about 40 minutes in the crumpler shop on Saturday and I still don't understand the range.
I tried my gripped 500D with canon 24-70 f/2.8 mounted, 70-200 f/2.8 and the canon 580EXII flash in its pouch in the bag both lenses had the hoods reversed. and it would all fit in to the New Delhi 510 but with little room to spare so I tried the New Delhi 620 and it seemed to fit a lot better and I could probably have got the kit lens and the 50mm f/1.8 in there aswell. The pockets on the front are huge and will fit loads in and it comes with a rain cover for the bag.

I also tried the messenger boy 8000 I was wanting a smallish bag that fit stuff in and yes it all fit but I think I will be going for the New Delhi 620 as I like the idea of the extra padding and it has more inserts to compartment the bag better so the extra external size will need to be over looked.

Ive got a Muffin Top 5500 for the GF1. Its fits nicely in the end with a Jobo gorilla pod in front and some space to put my buttie box. Not the biggest bag in the world. Great for round town/taking to work.
For weekends out with kids got a Kata DR467. lots of space for kids stuff/food etc etc.

I got a Crumpler The Red Puppet from Warehouse Express

Its a full Photo backpack and currently has;

Canon 40D with 28-135 fitted
Sigma 70-300
Canon 50mm 1.4
Speedlite 430ex
Sigma 18-50
Kenko 1.4 TC

There is room to fit another couple of short lenses in if I had them too

It all fits in without a problem, and the pack itself is really comfortable even with everything packed - there is a well designed tripod mount on the side which, and the front pockets have got loads of room for spare batteries, cards and cables. Oh, it takes a 15 inch laptop with that lot in as well.

I'll be getting a half photo one in the near future so I can fit butties in it and a bit less kit for days out

Well I ordered mine earlier from calumet and went for the New Delhi 620. I wanted the black one and they had it for £99 and free delivery, cheaper than everywhere else I could find. I will do a review of it whenit arrives.

I have a national geographic bag (medium size I think), it fits my 30D with lens & another lens so ideal for carrying a small amount round, the bigger size would be better for you (& me!) and doesn't look too much like a camera bag.
Be wary if using a standard messenger bag as the fibres from the fabric will get in your kit :p
am on my iPhone and the page isn't showing up, but I think this is the one I've got: http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/product/1001201/3640/858.html

sorry dont see the big deal in carrying around a camera bag that looks like a camera bag, as you,ve usualy got your very expensive camera in your paws.
