Hi

Anyone with a D90 use a wifi sd card?

If you do which one do you use and does it work like it should?

Does it drain the battery fast?

I want to get one for wireless teether shooting.

Thank you

Thank you, just been looking at them and comparing the price against the eye fi.

Where did you get your card from?

Sorry another question, how does it work with RAW files, and is it slow with RAW?

Thank you for your help. I would appreciate it if you could try a raw file and let me know if it works. Not fussed about the transfer but being able to preview the photo either on a mac or windows 7.

Thank you

Ummmmmm :bat:just popped the card back in opened up the Xoom, Set image to Raw...............Nothing
Works very well on JPEG but when i pop off a Raw shot the Flash Air states no image on card..............fat lot of good that is.
Got to look into this as is specifies Raw compatablilty, Maybe NEF raw is the issue.

I'll let you know what i find as this is now an issue for me :rage:

Thank you. I will do a bit of digging as well. May be the tab cannot convert the nef files.

Thank you. :D

No reason, just easier than connecting all the wires.

Kevin,

Had the itch and could not wait to try it out, have therefore ordered one from MyMemory.

Thank you

I just got a transcend 32gb wifi card off amazon to use in my 5d mk iii. It works like a dream but only with jpeg not raw. I'm not sure but I think this will be the same for all of them. Can you save raw and jpeg images at the same time on Nikon? If so that would work. It's really good for on location shooting sending the images straight to my ipad.

Thanks, yes I can do raw and jpeg on both the D90 and xf1. Will keep the thread updated.

Got this back today which surprised me as Toshiba listed Integral as the support for their cards.

Apparently not !

Hi Kev,

Thanks for your email.

These cards are supported by Toshiba Directly. You can find the support contact details on the back of the packaging (only for Wifi Flash air cards).

Please let me know should you have any questions.
Thanks,

So back to Toshiba :)

Thanks, this is the reply for my question on if it works with the D90 and the names of suppliers in London :

thank you for contacting Toshiba Europe Electronics GmbH.

The FlashAir card should work in all SDHC compliant devices, bu we haven't tested it with this specific camera model.

You can find a list of distributors and dealers here:

http://www.toshiba-memory.com/en/distributionpartners.html#

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Best regards

Not that we ever see either of them...

Yes need to get out and use the camera. Just looking at you photos is enough for me...:D

I've just tried my 32gb toshiba FlashAir card with our D90 and it appears to work no problem. Samsung S4 mini, ipad, and imac all picked it up no problem. The raw file though (NEF) neither the S4 or ipad could deal with, but the jpg was easy.

I bought it for use with my D300s and sadly it doesn't work well at all. But I knew there was a chance it wouldn't work as it's a metal body and it wasn't listed on the compatibility list.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks. Did you have to amend anything or did it work without any change to the camera.

Absolutely nothing to be done with the camera. Simply insert it, take pics as usual.

All the work is on the device you want to actually connect to it and view / transfer the images to. You need to go into the wifi settings on the device and connect to the flashair network (it'll show up as something like "flashair_b82b4639247363"). Once you're connected to that you need to open up a web brower on your device and go to the web address http://flashair/. it will show you the folders containing the photos on the card. There is an android app for the flashair but have not used it as my main camera is the D300s and as mentioned, it doesn't work as a wifi card :(

Thank you. Just waiting for delivery on the one I have ordered.

Strange as i can't get the browser to load just get a message saying website flashair cannot be found !
Ah got to connect to flash air card first lol

Toshiba FlashAir 16 GB Update

Card arrived today, setup was straight forward. I downloaded the flashair software to my pc. Connected the card to my pc and changed the password. This can be done without the PC but with the flashair app for android or ios. Put the card in the xf1 took a shot, on the PC connected to the flashair from the wifi connection, and on the browser went to http://flashair/ and I could see the thumbnails on the browser.

You can click on the thumbnail and enlarge it, or download it. It worked okay but seemed a bit slow. I downloaded the app on my nexus 7, launched it connected it to the card and it works well. It does auto refresh but takes some time, however if you click on the refresh icon on the app I could see the photo instantly. The app is very basic, you can zoom, download and I think you can upload to a dropbox etc if you have it set up.

On the PC and on the Nexus 7 it only works with jpg, raw file is shown but no photo. Overall for the very short time I have had it I am very impressed. The app needs developing and if it does work with raw that would be a bonus.

Tried it on the D90, it only works in Live view or if I change the AE focus to stay working for longer than 6 seconds.

Thank you all for the help.

Nice one..
Still waiting for the right dept to get back to me..
Watch this space......lol

Thanks, fingers crossed it can do raw, but just being able to see jpg helps. Took a shot which looked sharp at the back of the screen, enlarged on a tab was a different story. :(

Yep. Tried with ipad and that worked well. Need to see if I can connect it to my pc via the router so that I can see the photos on the on the monitors.

Hi Kevin,

Any updates from toshiba?

Thanks

the stock Flashair app is a little limited as mentioned.. you can get around these limitations by using Photosync (http://www.photosync-app.com/photosync/en/features.html#cluster_9) - I currently use a 32gb Flashair in my Canon 600D and have used it with iPads, iPhone, iMac and Android devices with no issues. (last time I was in HK I bought 20 of these and resold them on eBay - only 1 person I'm aware of had an issue they hadn't checked compatibility - they had an Olympus OM-D).

Another tip is NOT to format the card on the camera as it effectively makes it a dumb SD card (you need to format it on a PC/Mac and use the Flashair tool to do it ;) )

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the info. I do like the card and it works well with the nexus 7. Any idea how I could connect the card to my router so that I can see the pics on the PC as opposed to the tablet or phone?
