Anyone use a 'doggy' bag /sandwhich bag for their compact as opposed to a case?

Just wondering if anyone does this and if it would work out for the better or worse? Debating on just using that as opposed to a case

was thinking it would be quick + hassle free to get the camera out while protecting the lens from any potential grit which may get on the 'fins' (not sure if this is the official name) covering the lens.

Doggy bag would not have been previously used ;)
 
I always carry an assortment of plastic bags to keep my bits and bobs in (much to the amusement of my kids!). I was out on Sunday with the compact, in a plastic sandwich bag , to keep it both clean and dry.
 
Can't believe I am admitting to this, but when I take the dog the park I do wrap my Panasonic Compact in a doggy poo bag, if it looks like rain. While the Fujifilm XF1 lives in a plastic coin bag from the bank, it fits perfectly. I would not bother with a case for a compact camera, putting a Compact Camera in a case, no longer makes it pocketable.
 
other problem with a cases i used to find it the time taking the camera out and then putting the case away before you can get the shot , time you have done this the shot could have long gone

dont think it would impress the ladies either whipping out the camera in a dog crap bag haha

that would be a disaster especially pocketing the wrong one :eek:
 
When my girlfriend borrows my X10 she puts it in a sock then inside her handbag to protect it from keys etc :) works well!

I find clean ones work better :lol:
 
Sandwich bag, of course.:eek: and the bag below conveniently fits all my jam butties in.:)



Get a proper bag you tight ar.....................
 
It's not about being tight lol its about the messing about opening the bag, taking camera out and then finding somewhere to put the case time you have done that shot can be gone

It even has a long strap so you can hang it round your neck and look like a tourist.

What's not to like?

(Yes, I have one of these cases too.)
