I'm currently shooting studio sessions with my 50mm f/1.8 and it's a right pain in the tush as it renders the blown out background with a blue tint to it that I am having to sort out in processing.
My plan is eventually to be shooting weddings, and as such I have a listing of all the equipment that I want to get before I do. On that list is the 85mm f/1.4 and the 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-D. I was thinking about getting the 85mm first if it was a significant improvement over my 50mm f/1.8 in the studio results but have heard reports that it doesn't handle high-key studio shooting too well. It was in searching for info about this that I stumbled across the 105mm f/2 DC. I know Zack Arias really rates his for studio work and I was just wondering if anyone else uses one or has any experience of one?
If it is a fantastic studio lens then I would most likely kick the 85mm f/1.4 off the list for now and replace it with the 105mm.
