Anyone use Orange BB with Win 7 64 bit?

Is anyone using Orange Broadband with Windows 7 on 64 bit?

I just had my new PC arrive which is set up for Windows 7 on 64 bit. I tried to install the software that came with my Orange Broadband package but all I was was a message showing not possible to use with 64 bit.

I tried contacting Orange which is a nightmare in itself and they basically told me I either needed to buy a router locally that was compatible or upgrade the package I have to get something that will work with 64 bit.

Any advice or help would be most welcome.
 
Yup, no problems here - then again, the PC is set up for wi-fi and connects to the web through a wireless router.
 
So the problem is not so much Orange BB as the fact that the router you have is not 64bit compatible.?

Is it a Orange branded one or a Netgear, Belkin etc.?

But many users don't know that and on some routers they remove the usual password access to the box.Remove the software if it did install and just plug in the cable. It should allocate a IP and work.

Remember the box maintains the connection not the PC.
 
if its the newer netgear router it can be connected to as per any normal wireless network. even the old crappy liveboxes you could do the same, you just had to press that 1 button on the router before connecting.
 
Thanks for the help, it's the original Thomson SpeedTouch 330 that I have. Works fine with XP just the problem with the new 64 bit PC.

However you do need software to connect to the modem, unless you are savvy enough to sort out the connection details manually.

My advice would be to get a router, as the software for the 330 is obviously not compatible with 64bit.
