anyone use step-up rings..?

just bought a Nikon 18-70mm AF-S from TP......

well, had to see what all the fuss was about compared to my 18-55 AF-S VR.....

anyway - it's a 67mm filter

I have a Marumi 72mm DHG C-PL with which I'm quite happy

rather than buy an identical 67mm C-PL - how about a 67-72 step-up ring..? not a big jump.....:shrug:

obviously wont be able to use the hood but have a screw-in 72mm Nikon HN-9
not too deep but wouldn't be shooting near the sun whilst using a C-PL

I use a 67-77mm steup ring so I can use my 77mm B+W 10 stop filter on both my Tamron 17-50 and Sigma 10-20.
No complaints from me when using it.

Most of my circular filters are 77mm and I have a range of step up rings to get there, not sure I will use them on my 'new to me' Olympus stuff though as the majority of the lenses have a 49mm filter size and a couple have 55mm.

...just realised I'll need a 72mm lens cap too if i leave the step-up ring on the lens


stupid really as i now have lenses with 52mm, 55mm, 67mm and 72mm filter threads..........:bang::bang:
