Anyone use Sun Sniper Pro 2?

I currently have an BR RS7 but it needs replacing as where I have been tightening the fastener too right on the camera, I have bent the clip slightly.

Before buying a replacement I was wondering what the Sun Sniper was like? I do like the look of the fastener, but worried that without the buffers it would slip a lot.

Any user opinions would be great as no shops round here sell the SS to compare.

I have been using a sun sniper for a couple of years (the one with the steel wire in), is a great bit of kit that I wouldn't be without. Very well made and durable, my only criticism is that the shoulder pad slips now and again.
 
Have used a sun sniper for a couple of years and have been pleased with it. Although I have recently purchased the opteka version of vest carrying system to try out.

The SS was cheaper than BR and seems to offer similar performance.

Also just seen Luma Labs Cinch which looks interesting.
 
Have you seen the Carry Speed?

I got the FS Pro with the wide neoprene shoulder strap, but they do a slightly narrower one too, which is cheaper.

CarrySpeed seems to have discontinued their straps...
I've destroyed three of them. The first one they replaced. So I bought a second (smaller model) as well... Now they are all torn and they haven't responded to any inquiries. It's a shame as I did like the comfort of them.

FWIW, I was carrying a very heavy setup on the FS Pro (D4,400 2.8, SharpShooter camera mount).

I use mine with a D800 & 200-400mm

(Still some available on Amaz0n, while stocks last)

Carry Speed do seem to have left the strap market.

So its either another BR or Sun Sniper or try something different like Luma Labs Cinch.

I see that Joby now also do a sling strap that might be worth further investigation.

Can only find BR locally so got to go off reviews and pictures!

I'm trying the Op-tech pro-loop. My heavy rig is ~15# (handheld). I also like the BR straps, but they are not as comfortable w/ heavy loads. And I've eaten 1/3 thru one of their hooks in a year using their newer "hard mount". But replacement hooks are cheap/easy. I'm not entirely confident in the Op-Tech pro loop with the heavy setups so if I had to pick one I would choose BR... No experience w/ Sun Sniper. With lighter setups (i.e. body &70-200) I don't usually use straps at all (Spider Holster).
 
I found the main advantage of the black rapid is the ability to quickly unhook the camera if and when required and no matter what length you make the strap there is no excess hannging about.

The luma labs with its new plate looks very interesting and although not a sling as such, does look like a good option.

The joby looks nice and tidy, but again its attached to the camera without any quick release method and looks quite bulky around the connector when wanting to store with it attached.

Will look at the optech too.

Might just be a case of ordering a couple and selling on the ones I don't like.
