After years of CGAS (camera gear acquisition syndrome) I have finally realised I am not, and never will be, a serious photographer. I have therefore decided to sale back on my camera equipment.
That said I do appreciate the difference that good equipment (especially glass) makes and I am delighted with the results I get from my GF3 with the Olympus 12mm and 45mm plus the Panasonic 20mm - the it lens produces images which, for me, lack sharpness and the 'wow factor'.
Before I finally settle with this outfit has anyone here used the Canon G1X? The sensor and lens seem very well rated but some operational aspects (eg AF speed) much less so. My main use is family days out and travel shots which the Canon seems well suited to. Ideally I'm after a single lens outfit which has a balance of relative portability (ie smaller than a DSLR) and good IQ
