Anyone used a GoPro (Silver 4) for stills?

Planning on getting one for our holiday, mainly for video (obviously!). As we will be spending a couple of days in waterparks and the hotel pool, I was hoping to pick up a Fuji XP70 from the refurb store but they don't have any now, for stills. Is that needed, it is just going to be fun family shots, so would a go pro be as good as a £100 P&S waterproof camera?

Get yourself an sj4000 off eBay. 50 quid with a waterproof housing and all the mounts you could ever need. They're great.

Will be fine for occasional stills but has a very wide angle lens so some thought will be needed and you'll always have some distortions.
