they're knocking out f1.8 mk2 50mm canon lenses for £58 inc p&P....

everyone else is throwing a minimum of £75 at it, is this company reliable, i wouldnt mind parting with £60 for a great little lens

They're based in Hong Kong, so it'll be a grey import. So they'll be cheaper than UK suppliers.

No point taking a risk when there's other well-established grey importers around.
 
are they copies then andy, id rather spend the extra tenner or twenty quid for the real thing, if quality is going to suffer over a few quid? cheers bud :)
 
Not copies, but you may get problems with warranty. Many manufacturers will only honour warranties if it was purchased from a local authorised dealer (i.e. from within the UK). Grey imports you'd have to return to the seller. You'd need to check their returns policy, including who pays the postage.

Plus, you may get stung for import duty and VAT. Some of these grey dealers dodge paying the correct duty (hence their low prices) and you could get stung.
 
I personally wouldn't bother. There is a high chance you may get stuck for import duty and VAT which would then mean you'd pay more than the £75 you an get a UK version for, and you may potentially sacrifice a warranty as well.
Its not worth the potential hassle for such a small saving for me.
