Yes
Hi all,
following extensive testing, and the fact I have now run out of patience, my D7000 is going to have to go in for focus issues.
Does any-one have any experience of using Fixation in London?
Just wondering turn around time etc.

they are very good,

basically the more expensive the camera is , the quicker the turnaround. I had a shutter fixed on my 5d mk ii recently, got it back in about a week

Yes. No worries.

Ask them for an ETA when you book in. They have different wait times for Nikon and Canon because of different techs.

what he said. They're also very good at keeping you informed, and if you ask they'll provide an estimate before starting work

I've had 3 or 4 things send there over the years and been pleased with the service each time.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies.

I'm not bothered about the cost, as the camera is only 5 weeks old,so it's a warranty job, but the turnaround time is key for me.
It's local (ish) to me (a tube ride away) so I will contact them and take it down myself.
Thanks again,
Gary.

Well, here's an update.
Took my D7000 in to Fixation repairs yesterday (Monday) for a back focus issue.
Dropped the camera off at 12:30, and got an e-mail from them tonight, (Tuesday) at 17:30 to say I can go and pick it up tomorrow.(Wednesday)
There WAS a back focus problem, which they say has now been adjusted.
Now THAT is what I call a good turnaround.

So a big thanks to all involved.

I have used them once, for full servicing 40D. They done a good job cleaning it, inside out, even body rubbers were looking pristine after it but over charged me. I have requested to be contacted if job exceeds £150, never happened and it was surprise then they told the bill of £164 on collection body (cleaning, new focus scree, shutter button). The booking sheet even had the line about cap. After talking for 10 minutes about it, still had to pay the full amount, adjustment wasn't done. One off situation with administration error? Probably.

Well, I picked up my D7000 today, and it appears to be a lot better than before.
It is now sharp, and on initial test shots, even sharper than I was expecting!!
I am now a happy bunny, and I'm looking forward to getting out there and taking some decent pics.
Very pleased with the service from Fixation, and a very nice bunch of people they are too.
My new problem is that I don't know what excuse to use now when my shots are cr*p !!

Nice to see such good reviews for them as I gave them the go-ahead to repair my 17-40mm lens yesterday. Found them through a recommendation from this site as well so hopefully when it comes back I can add to the list of people who have had a good experience.

good customer service, thorough, prompt and really nice to deal with. even better if you're based in london
