Anyone used one of these

i just got a QR strap from Stealth - not heavily padded but excellent - D40 + battery grip + Sigma 17-70

very handy to detach when using tripod, or even to slot body into camera bag compartment

I tried the original version of these straps at Focus and they certainly seemed very useful. I'm considering a double strap for when I carry 2 cameras at weddings but I'd only want a double if you can separate them in to 2 singles. I can't tell if the double version of these cheaper ones separates or not. For £60 they are certainly better value than the original ones.

I've never been a fan of non OEM straps, but the r straps do look really neat - this imitation looks good, though from the (very small) photo, the camera screw bit looks a bit dodge, and that's my biggest reservation about these straps as it is. The official r-strap spigot felt the business though, but not sure if I'd trust the same in a plastic thing...

yeah, the official one, the pockets are pretty neat, and I really did like the way the camera naturally hung by your back instead of by your side... the price tag is pretty steep though :(

Well i ordered one and it arrived a few days ago and i can honestly say it's solid enough with no plastic on the crucial parts and storage for memory cards or money .It really is an identical copy to the R-strap apart from the bit that fastens to the bottom of the camera ,it's a metal plate that has a tough rubber attached to it so when it's locked in place it's pretty darn secure .I'll be testing it out this coming saturday as i have a full days/night wedding to cover ;)

I have the original Black Rapid RS4 and love it, but I didn't like the FastenR as I'd have to remove it to attach a tripod mounting plate. Also, I'm paranoid and like to keep my hand on the camera all the time and found that the RS4 just didn't extend far enough for me to do so comfortably, so I cut up my original Nikon strap and made this:

I have one for each of my cameras and it just makes it so much more comfortable and easier to use for me.

I’ve just bought the double version of this strap after checking with the seller that the doubles can be separated in to 2 singles. They have a BIN of £59.99 but I submitted a Best Offer of £50 and had it accepted. Certainly better value than the official ones at £130 for a double. I'll let you know how good the strap is once I've received it. It's coming from Hong Kong so I assume it'll be at least a week.

I await your comments with interest.

I've used an R-Strap with my second body - with the 70-200 attached...gleaming.
Didn't work so well over body-armour, but I predict it'll be more use in the 'real-life' situations that I now hope to find myself in more often...

I've received the double strap the other day. Delivery from Hong Kong was surprisingly quick.

The quality of the strap seems pretty much as good as the original I tried at focus. The 2 straps separate in to 2 single straps and the length of each straps are easily adjustable to it's easy to get them comfortable. The screw plate to fix the camera to the strap is solid, it's not as compact as the R Fastner but it does the job. Anyone looking for this kind of strap to carry 1 or 2 cameras at a time then I#d recommend this one for a fraction of the price of the original.
