Anyone using a Benro GH2 Gimbal?

Hi,

I'm tempted to invest in a gimbal head after having a go with one last week. Sadly I'm too poor to afford a Wimberly so I was looking at Benro's offering, does anyone on here use one? How do you find it? It will be for my 500mm, so fairly weighty. I normally handhold it but can see the advantages of having a Gimbal head.

Also have a 500mm and use with a Gimble for wildlife but cannot get on with it for aviation and motorsport is easier with a monopod, so would say it depends what you want to use it for.

Pretty much only aviation. Might give it a miss then! I guess elevation changes will mean ducking as the camera comes down.

That would be great, than you! I'll be at all the Duxford shows however I'll be rather busy so probably not the best idea. Will you be at either Abingdon or Shuttleworth on the 3rd May?

Yes will probably do one of the shows on the 3rd if the weather is looking OK. Shuttleworth is just down the road so dont always go into the show but walk round the edge of the airfield to get a few different angles. Abingdon I haven't been to before so that would likely be first choice if the weathers looking good.

Where abouts are you based, guessing Beds or Cambs by the shows you seem to attend.

I'm up near Peterborugh.

Could meet at Duxford on a pre show day, if you do those?

Will do some of the pre show days this year for Duxford as purchased a years ticket the other week and think it gets you in on the Fridays. Looking at the lineup May 3rd will be Abingdon if the weathers good and probably Shuttleworth outside if dodgy. Will be in touch when I am next going to either Duxford or a show and see what you are doing, always good to meet up with others for a chat and compare kit. Just been to the Photography show today and accidentally came back with a new 100-400mm!
