I got my YN-622C triggers on Friday but one appears to be broken straight out of the box. :( It just won't turn on, no lights go on. The other one powers on fine with lights on both sides turning green. I just wanted to check there isn't something obvious that I have missed before I attempt to get a replacement and have to pay the shipping back to HK.
 
I just got 2 sets....I don't think there is anything to configure to get them to power up. Thie only thing that springs to mind is that I think they need close to 1.5v, so might be worth trying with Alkalines to test?

I used them today in the bright sunshine, they are pretty good. The working range is about 15-20m, and they worked well.
 
At the risk of causing offence, it's worth noting that the batterys are inserted in opposing configuration, even though the style of the battery terminals are the same way round. Nearly got me when I first used mine.
 
Haha yeah I have tried the batteries in every possible different direction combination just in case the diagram is printed incorrectly. I used the same two batteries to test both units. Neither of those seems to be the problem.

Thanks I really appreciate the offer. :) I'm not really in need of one right now though. I just bought these to try and learn off-camera lighting in case I ever need to do it.
 
Yeah, just to back up whats been said - nothing to configure, just switch on and go.

Damn just had a look at RM, Fedex, UPS and DHL and the cheapest quote to send it back to Shanghai is £31! They only cost me £59 so I doubt it's worth sending them back.

I guess I will try to get the broken one open and see if there is anything obviously wrong. If not I will probably just keep them and buy some more.

Unless someone wants to give me £30 for a working one and a broken one? :)
 
I've found that with for east sales myself, what you want to do is get in touch, offer photos or a video proving its broken, it probably won't get a replacement as they don't really care but it should get you a discount.

As a thought on why, it may just be a loose connection, I'm sure I read over at potn that someone had a similar problem

If it wont power up, then it's probably faulty, but a Factory Re-set if something goes wrong or doesn't seem to work - try it anyway

Factory Reset
If a transceiver seems erratic:
•Disconnect the 622 then turn it on.
•Hold down [CH SET] plus [GP SET] at the same time.
•The Status indicator will wink red-green alternately 3 times, then stay red.
•Release the buttons. Factory defaults will be set.

Ah, took a bit of thread archaeology but here is the bit of that thread I mentioned before - it was a loose screw but more importantly it has images of the insides and how they should look - here.
 
That doesn't link to the right thread John. I know the one you refer to as I have seen that. Perhaps you have the correct one.
 
It was the one I remembered, to get to the images you have to scroll down a little - I couldn't link directly as the images are split over a couple of posts.

If theres another one can you dig it up as I've not seen it.
