Anyone using Lexar Professional Workflow Hub and Flash Storage?

I currently have all images stored on my iMac, backed upto a portable hard drive and I'm running out of space so am looking at new storage. I use Lightroom to organise my images.

BUT, I also have a laptop with Lightroom that I use at home (iMac is in office), so I'd like to start using the laptop more. I generally don't do this because it means I then have to memory stick my images from the laptop to the iMac and inevitably I forget or mess up the file organisation.

The Lexar system seems attractive as I think I could use it this way; have the hub with 2 flash drives inserted. One being my main Lightroom library, the second being a back up of the first. Then when I wanted to use the laptop at home for processing I could take out drive 1, take it home, plug into laptop, and the next day slot it back into the hub.

If this makes any sense whatsoever, can anyone see a flaw in my plan.

Also does anyone use this kit? The price point is right for me and the apparent simplicity appeals

I'm not familiar with the product, however this is how I work (which sounds similar).

2 HDDs, same make & model. 1 Primary & 1 Backup.
Lightroom cat + photos + cache on 1 HDD. I keep my LR 'backup' (i.e. the backup LR asks you to do) in my Google Drive folder. This means my backup is in the cloud.
2nd HDD as a backup, I have a script that uses rsync to keep both HDDs as mirror images

If I ever want to work on another computer I can just connect the HDD to the computer and, assuming LR is installed, work away.

All this is backed up further using Crashplan .

Excellent thanks, that sounds exactly like what I want to do.

I may have to be the guinea pig for the Lexar set up, only realised this morning that the flash drives have only been out about a month or so.
