Anyone using MF lenses on 1DsII?

Hi

Probably a long shot but I was wondering if anyone is using MF lenses on a 1DsII/1DII/1Ds/1D/D30/D60

I've seen reports of these bodies needing a bit of card wedging in place before they can use some MF lens adapters and I don't want to have to do that.

Anybody shed any light on this?

I have mounted a Leica R lens (35 f/2.0) on my 5D with a Fotodiox adapter without any problems, but that's not the body you're referring to.

Which manual lenses are you interested in mounting on your 1DsMkII? Contax Zeiss lenses seems to be more touch and go than others, depending on the quality and the thickness of the adapter used. Olympus Zuikos seem to be straightforward.

I have a Zuiko 28/2.8 and adaptor coming tomorrow from Ffordes to have a play with. I'm also on the lookout for a 24/2.8 and am trying to resist getting a modern Zeiss 25/2.8 to play with as a longer term option.

How do you find the R lens? I have dreams about them!
 
I use my 50mm 1.2 on the nikon occasionally and it's a pain, you just get so used to autofocus it's scary. you'll probably need a better focus screen as James suggests
 
Thanks guys. I have to say I'm not too worried about focusing as it will be mainly for landscapes and f/11-f/16 will give me suitable depth of field from about 3ft to infinity.

28 f/2 and adaptor arrived beautifully packaged from Ffordes this morning. Will have a play with this first and then I think I'm looking out for 24 and 35mm lenses too.
